Problems Getting Through to 211?

For callers outside of Calgary and Edmonton
In Alberta, 211 is currently only available within Calgary and Edmonton. In order to ensure broad caller service in areas where 211 is unavailable to callers in need, (403) 266-1605 will connect callers to the Distress Centre in Calgary and (780) 482-4636 will connect callers to The Support Network in Edmonton. Please be advised, however, that, at present, the information available through these numbers pertains primarily to Calgary and Edmonton, and that information about the rest of the province may not be readily available.

For Calgary and Edmonton callers
Calgary and Edmonton callers who are using PBX (Private Branch Exchange) telephone systems (often found in large organizations) may also experience difficulty connecting to the service. PBX telephone systems will not enable callers to access numbers that they do not recognize as valid, and must be re-programmed to accept 211 as a valid number. Please contact your company’s telephone programmer to have 211 programmed into the PBX telephone system.
